Mount Shasta at day
image
Mount Shasta during the day. This is probably one of the most photographed mountains in the Northwest because of its beauty.
Camera: Olympus C4000; Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/650); Aperture: f/3.5; Focal Length: 6.8 mm; ISO Speed: 100; Exposure Bias: 0/10 EV; Flash: Flash did not fire, auto mode
Mount Rainier

This was the first time that I had ever seen anything like this. I was so glad that I had my camera with me when it happened.
The sun was rising and it came up right behind the mountain. Therefore, it cast a shadow in the clouds that seemed like the mountain was erupting.

Diablo Lake has a beautiful turquoise/green color which is especially striking in the bright sunshine. This color results from suspended particles of rock & "flour";--bits of rock which have been ground by glaciers and deposited into the lake.

The Higher You Climb

The Higher You Climb
The higher you climb, the more that you see
The more that you see, the less that you know
The less that you know, the more that you yearn
The more that you yearn, the higher you climb
The farther you reach, the more that you touch
The more that you touch, the fuller you feel
The fuller you feel, the less that you need
The less that you need, the farther you reach

I noticed everyone was whispering along the path as they were taking photos. I felt like I was in a sanctuary. I think we all whispered because this is such a sacred place.
At times, I struggle with my faith and wonder if there is a God. Then I see place like this, I know without a doubt there is some Master Designer of the Universe. Beauty like this doesn't happen by chance.
Lately, my life just doesn't make sense to me with all the crazy twists and turns. It reminds me of the all the crazy twist and turns I took driving through these mountains. It felt like I was driving in circles. It wasn't until I stepped back, changed my perspective that it became clear to me there is a purpose for each twist and turn. It is all part of a beautiful design. It reminds me to trust that my life is part of a beautiful design too.

Boat on the Shore

This shot is from Camano Island. My Grandparent's used to have a place across the sound at Warm Beach. I spent a lot of summers there was a kid. When the tide goes way out every day, the sun beats down on the beach. The hot beach warms the water when it the tide comes back in. It really is a warm beach! This is one of my favorite places on earth - full of beautiful scenery and warm memories. July 2009.

I stumbled across this old tree along the Cama Beach today. I thought it was interesting especially how it reaches over the water

There is a land of pure delight,
Where saints immortal reign,
Infinite day excludes the night,
And pleasures banish pain.

Kjeåsen is probably one of the most beautiful places I've visited. The weather was exceptional this day.
Too bad i didn't get to meet the woman living there, she's been featured in a program on National Television, called "Der ingen skulle tru at nokon kunne bu", roughly translated to "Where no-one would have thought anyone could live".
