An overtly Christian theme I admit, and one with obvious religious symbolism. This piece actually came about from a larger "paint wall" at an event I attended, where peoples random painting formed the shapes here, I then transcribed the piece to digital. Still not sure why I actually like this, I guess it must be the memory of that evening.

Not my tidiest work but, for me at least, it has a certain energy about it even after a few years.
The Steeple Before Sunset

The sun was setting, but slightly to the west of the steeple. I could have waited for another day or season for the sun to be in the right position....or I could have moved the sun into place. Which do you think I did?

Ballintubber Abbey was founded in 1216AD by Cathal Crovderg O'Connor, King of Connaught.
It is the only church in Ireland to have offerred Mass for almost 800 years without a break.
It survived Cromwellian burnings.
Untroubled by storms

Taken in April 2007 in Cross Village, Co. Clare. The church is a ruin, replaced by a modern building down the road, but the old churchyard is still used.
