I also am little sad that their habitat is slowly being destroyed and that they don't have say in this. That's why I love taking their photos and show people what they could miss out on if they don't change these distructive attitude. I am also hoping that their gorgeous colours can make your day! honeypestypie image This is war!! This is war!! honeypestypie image This magpie was intimidating a crested pigeon. honeypestypie image honeypestypie image honeypestypie image Peaceful Mind Peaceful Mind honeypestypie image What is your ideal world? A place where you can hear the noise of traffic, construction site, loud music from neighbours or somewhere peaceful and quiet.... My ideal world is definitely somewhere I can enjoy a peaceful moment. I saw this white-faced heron at the Oyster Rocks on the Alexandria Beach, Noosa. This fellow kept me company for more than an hour and half, so I had a great opportunity to take a lot of photos of him. I sat on the rocks and kept pressing the shutter while he was feeding on small fish between the rocks. It was a beautiful day and all I heard was the sound of the ocean and the song of the birds. While I was taking photos, I forgot about the stress and the tension that I felt from my everyday life in the city. This fellow was relaxed and occasionally staring at the ocean....after a while I became relaxed. honeypestypie image

Oyster Rocks Oyster Rocks honeypestypie image This is where I saw a white-faced heron (previous pics) and a lot of nudists!! A perfect place to have a holiday (to see a gorgeous view, NOT nudists!!). Oyster Rocks in Noosa Ghost Crab Ghost Crab honeypestypie image Ghost crabs are also called sand crabs. These crabs are called ghosts because of their ability to disappear from sight almost instantly, scuttling at speeds up to 10 miles per hour, while making sharp directional changes (yes, I have witnessed this!). They have two black eyes (when I touched the eye, it blinked!), with sharp 360° vision which they use to see flying insects and catch them in mid air. The ghost crab, however, cannot see directly up, so it must burrow into the ground to prevent birds from catching it. This crab was so small (approx 3cm) and cute!! Alexandria Beach, Noosa Wandering Whistling-Duck Wandering Whistling-Duck honeypestypie image Wandering Whistling-Ducks are also called 'Tree Ducks' due to their habit of sitting on logs and in trees rather than in the water. The name "Whistling" comes from their calls and the sound of their flight. "Wandering".... they must be wanderers. Kooralbyn, QLD Brahminy kite Brahminy kite honeypestypie image I was so lucky to capture this beauty. The nest was nearby.. :-)) Noosa honeypestypie image
