Mt Shasta1

Sunset over Mt. Shasta in California. This is a beautiful mountain and has always been one of my favorites to photograph.
I have heard it said that there is actually a Vortex on the mountain that creates some of the most interesting cloud formations. I say the clouds do that because of the wind against the mountain. But who knows? I guess if we ask Ripley, anything could be possible, right?

A closer view of the mountain. I did not alter the photo at all. These are the actual colors of the evening. There was a huge fire west of the mountain and so when the sun was setting, it created the most interesting sunset and colors on Mount Shasta.

This was the first time that I had ever seen anything like this. I was so glad that I had my camera with me when it happened.
The sun was rising and it came up right behind the mountain. Therefore, it cast a shadow in the clouds that seemed like the mountain was erupting.
