This is home. :) Rushing Rushing image I've really never tried to photograph a waterfall before ... This was ISO 200, f/27, 1/8 exposure. Cropped in Picassa and adjusted contrast and temp slightly. Did not use a tripod as I don't have one yet. haha. Instead I laid on my belly on the ground. Any suggestions from the pros out there for improving are appreciated. :) I want to thank everyone who commented, especially with suggestions for improving. I definitely need a tripod! The western suburbs of Cleveland where I grew up were known for their mills and for their sandstone quarries. This park was such a quarry. This area is where the West Bank of the Rocky River falls over the sandstone rocks. Confession. Jenny does not own a tripod. (I know, I know.) So this is a hand held photo.

Forget the Groundhog, Let's Ask the Robins! Forget the Groundhog, Let's Ask the Robins! image I say we forget the silly groundhogs and ask the robins if spring is on its way. American Robin, Bradstreet's Landing, Rocky River, Ohio. (Any further north and these guys would be flying to Canada!) The American Robin is Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin's state bird. He was scratching because the bugs were bothering him ... But I like how it also looks like he is giving a "high five!" This is one of my favorite photographs I've taken. :) I got completely muddy and wet to get it. A lot of hissing and a few fights for seeds. I guess when the temps hit 8 feels like -10 with the wind, its every bird for his or her self! Crimson and Gray. And I agree with Ray, he DOES seem to be almost smiling ... Kind of like the Cheshire cat .... err ... I mean Cheshire Cardinal. Thank you for all the nice comments on my cardinal. :) This is probably the dominant male amongst the 9 or 10 males I have that come. He scares all the other cardinals off and he's the most red. He also is the most comfortable with me. He really doesn't seem to care that I'm sitting there pointing the camera at him.
