Same basic photo as my previous "Cold on the Marsh with Strange Winter Sky" except this photo has the actual sky. I added the bench and tree from other photos of mine.
Two Trees with Red Sun

I was in the process of adding layer upon layer to make this image better and better when I realized that this simple image was more striking. I will finish the origional project and post it later, but adding more might make the whole image distracting. We'll see....
The Steeple Before Sunset

The sun was setting, but slightly to the west of the steeple. I could have waited for another day or season for the sun to be in the right position....or I could have moved the sun into place. Which do you think I did?
Winter Sky over Sunset Marsh

Great Salt Marsh Island My Way

In my continuing efforts never to leave well enough alone and to imporve on nature this is my enhanced version of my previous picture Great Salt Marsh Island. As you can see there are more trees and color, and a different sun and clouds. I don't know if Mother Nature would approve, but I didn't get many views on the more natural picture. Now we'll see if Flickr viewers like this better.
Glowing in the Dark

Actual tree cut out from its setting on a cold riverbank and modified many many times until it looked like this. During the process I put the tree in different settings and recolored it too many times. Thats what I do, and this is the result.
We Thought they were Northern Lights

UC Davis Arboretum

I attended UC Davis from 1994-1998, graduating in 1998 with a degree in English Literature. I returned in 2008 for a visit, and took this picture looking down into the UC Davis Arboretum. I like this picture because there's a bike in the shot, and if you've ever been to Davis, you know that it's Bike Mecca. Hee. Go Aggies.

Near Buellton

Driving from Ventura County to San Luis Obispo one weekend, I cut through the foothills around Solvang and Buellton, CA, and came across this group of yes, happy California cows. I liked this picture because of the reflection in the side mirror. I thought it was kind of poetic, and symbolic of my life at the time, looking forward and backward at the same time. Plus, the hills are pretty.

Morro Rock

When I was a little girl, my family lived in Atascadero, in San Luis Obispo County, and we would often take winding Highway 46 down from our hilly home to the quaint town of Morro Bay (for clam chowder and fresh sea air). Morro Rock is still one of my favorite natural landmarks in the Golden State, especially when, on a day like this one in Spring, 2007, the ethereal mist is beginning to roll in over the Morros.

Light and Blossoms

This photo was taken on a day trip to the Apple Farm Hotel and Restaurant in San Luis Obispo, California. I was walking from the gift shop to the hotel lobby (for some free and oh so delicious apple cider), and I was mesmerized by the light streaming through these blossoms. So pretty!
