River Avon Reflections - Bath
image
Looking over the River Avon, at the historical city of Bath. The St. John's Church spire dominates the Bath skyline, seen here in the shot. The Church was designed and built between 1861 - 1863. The church's 68 metre spire was added in 1867.
You can also see the light snow of the green grass on the banks, with the typical winter colours. The beautiful weeping willow tree is what attracted me to this shot, with the bright yellow colour.
A very brief rain/snow shower came from no where at sunset, giving the sky a very dramatic feel. An hour later, it was clear skies.

A Dark Past
image
I think every Australian knows of Port Arthur, for dark events that happened here, both in the recent past, and early days of Australia. A correctional facility for the re-offending criminals from Britain and Ireland, this was more than just a jail. It was about changing these men to rejoin society.
It was used from 1833 until the 1877 when it was closed down. This was the main church, and it was one of Australia's first non-denominational churches. Built using convict labour, in the gothic style.
The bird in the shot is a crow. I did try to get one of the many rosellas in the area in the shot, but no luck there.

St. George's Chapel - Windsor Castle
image
The St. George's Chapel is the place of worship for the Windsor Castle, and is the chapel of the Order of the Garter. This chapel is loaded with history, and it breathtaking on the inside. Unfortunately photography is not permitted inside, so I only have memories. I highly recommend the tour of Windsor Castle and the Chapel if visiting the UK. The burials here go way back in history, from King Edward IV in 1483!

Tower Bridge - London
image
Another beautiful morning in London today, getting very lucky with weather i think for winter :) This one 7:50am, only minutes before sunrise. Having one part of the bridge covered with plastic, makes it difficult to photograph. I found this angle worked best, with the Gherkin building in the background.. Completed in 1894, and at over 100 years old, still looks beautiful today!

Salisbury Cathedral Interior Reflections
image
One of the many many shots I took of the interior of this beautiful cathedral. There is a still pool fountain in the centre of rear nave, and it makes for some beautiful reflections. I'm amazed at how many people miss looking into this for a very different view.
Salisbury Cathedral is the tallest surviving pre-1400 spire in the world.

Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York City
image
We thought we were going to get off at the Cathedral Parkway stop and meander down through Central Park.
But spires in the sky have the ability to change things.
We came out of the subway at 110 Street, and saw the most interesting architecture arising in the distance. We did an about face, and we were off on a new adventure.
What a magnificent cathedral. David and I spent hours there, shooting to our hearts' content.
Our visit became even more special when the organ player began turning out tunes on the massive pipe organ. Amazing sounds!

Latte
image
This drawing features one of my original characters, Latte. She is from a graphic novel I am working on that will feature adventure, fantasy, romance, and comedy. I wanted to do a portrait of her and used Copic markers to color her and gouache paint for the background. Copic markers are professional markers used in many artworks in Japan and are my personal choice for their great color selection and their bendable nibs which resemble paint brushes. Because of the nibs, they are very easy to work with and are great for laying down colors. Gouache paint was used for the background since it is very opaque but water soluble to make blending easy. The style is my personal style which has been influenced by many different manga books I have read.
