Thousands of people woke up this morning not being able to see their hands in front of their faces. I was above all that, of course. What an incredible two day trip, I have seldom ever had everything be so perfect. It made up for all the rain and traffic and foiled plans from a few previous trips that didn't work out half as well. I saw things over these past two days that I have never seen, or had forgotten about just how wonderful life can be.
I stood there, on top of Mount Mitchell this morning, and thought to myself about how many people in this world will go their entire lives and never see anything this beautiful; and they never have a clue what they are missing.
Mount Mitchell

The clouds remind me of a long exposure waterfall shot. I saw so many wonderful things on this trip, from the Art Loeb trail on Black Balsam and Tennant near sunset to the peaks of Table Rock and the Chimneys in Linville Gorge. And I will get to those soon, I promise. But these shots from Mount Mitchell just blow me away.
