Clock at the D'Orsay
image
My sister lived briefly in Paris, and I took this shot during a whirlwind visit. The view is from the upper level at the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, looking through the giant clock to the city below.
I was so jetlagged that the only way I recall the museum at all is through these photos.
Colours of London

Houses of Parliament, with the Big Ben clock tower about 30 minutes after sunset.
Londons history goes right back to the Roman occupation, and it was the Romans that founded the city. Plague, Fire, Bombings could not break the rich history, and strong willed Londonite.
Today, the historic mixes with the modern, and beautiful parkes litter the city.
London, England.
London Reds

The iconic theme of London is Red it seems, all the popular and iconic things are this fire-engine red. The busses, post boxes, and public phones are just a few. A select colour of the public phone, bus here in this shot. big Ben in the background :)

Big Ben - London
image
Probably the most obvious landmark in London, the nickname "Big Ben" is actually for the great bell of the clock. On the hour, it rings the number of the hour of day. the Westminster Chimes are so awesome to listen to, well worth waiting for the hour to hear them :)
The clock first ticked on 31 May 1859, celebrating it's 150th year last year, 2009.
Palace of Westminster, main clock tower, northend. London, England. The lights stretched across the shot is from another London icon, the Red double-decker bus.

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
Time in a bottle - Jim Croce
Time is a fickle friend
when we are young
we beg for time when
we want one more
trip around the block
on our bike
As we get older
we rush time
so that we can have
that new privilege
or opportunity
Soon enough
we wish time would
just slow down
so we could savor
the moments we
are creating
And in the end
we want time
to go back
so we can relive
and relish the
life we were
gifted on this earth with.
How do you see time?

Clock Farm from Parking Lot
image
To see the weathervane clearly, best to view the photo at Large size.
Wanted to get back to this farm to capture it a bit better.
The David Ames Clock Farm, formerly the Clock Farm of the Ames estate where horses and Guernsey cows were bred, is known for its Howard Steeple Clock of which only 3000 exist in the United States. The steeple clock was installed in 1870 and served to summon the farmhands working on the sixty acres of fields. Other educational institutions with Howard steeple clocks include Yale University and Harvard University.
Stonehill College acquired the property on 23 October 1978 as a gift from David Ames, the reigning patriarch of the Ames family at the time. In 1980, the college had the clock restored and today continues its maintenance. The clock is crank-wound every four or five days and still rings every 15 minutes.

Numbers, Measures & Counting.
image
Fantasy image of various forms of counting, numbers and measures.
The abacus being the oldest form of counting mechanism here, is the focus were as the Bar code is the latest, and comes directly from it.
The landscape is actually grains of sand (the classic counting challenge) and the sky is a range of clouds (which as we all know is made of drops of water, try to count them!).

A neat way to view a stop memory in time.
