Chain of Life
image
At some beach.
This chain just came out of the water, went up the shore and vanished again in the sand. Dunno what it was, where it went or came from. But the color was really nice.
Nowbody could tell me what it meant...

The devil went down to camden!
image
So anyway i am sitting in Starbucks, like you do, right next to the lovely Camden Lock (perfect people watching spot) sipping on my triple fat extra large latte wondering which to eat first my cinnoman swirl or my chocolate brownie when I spy this! Obviously the sign on the wall can only mean something exciting like a secret London HQ for devil worshippers or something equally exciting.
Nay, nay and thrice nay I tell you, can you imagine my disgust on entering this super cool building with the logo of extreme coolness to find it is actually a shop that sells womens apparell!!
Actually the bigger shock was the price of some of those said garments!
Oh well back to the day dreams!

What I Saw at the Park

Gasworks Park, how do I love thee?
image
4-20-09/Day 46
Today was an incredibly beautiful day! After dropping Jamie & Jarod off at school, I walked with Seiji (he rode in the stroller) to Gasworks Park, which is on Lake Union. I had avoided going to this park for a while because I tend to prefer going to the parks facing salt water over fresh water. But I did finally go with my then-boyfriend David last Spring or Summer, and found that I really dug it, and not so much for the views of Lake Union and Seattle, but for these giant, rusted structures. I don't even know what these things are, or what they were used for, but it doesn't really matter to me at this point. I just love the sense of history and industry that I get by looking at them.
Aside from the beautiful views here, it was one of those days when everything is made beautiful by the sunshine, and I could have taken a hundred pictures. I saw a hummingbird at a flowered bush, and shortly thereafter I spotted a heron slowly flapping its big ol' wings overhead. I am a geek for flowers

Washtub Planter with Christmas Ferns
image
This is an open-bottomed washtub in the bottom of a wide ravine in the middle of the woods. Christmas ferns and mayapples grow in it with jack-in-the-pulpits nearby, sheltered by the heat retaining metal basin ring and a protective, shade providing holly tree overhead.
