I am so blessed! This is the north shore of Lake Tahoe on the way from Tahoe City to Reno.
I used the "dusk" setting on my Nikon digital camera and in Photoshop, I upped the lightness and contrast a bit. Here's a photo using the "sunset" setting: flickr.com/photos/angela7/106453951/

African Wild Dog

This animal has been a difficult catch for me. I had problems finding him out and about. And, if he was seen, he was sleeping. The rain this week seemed to wake him up and get him going. The day before this picture, we heard a "siren" type noise while visiting Campo Gorilla Reserve. We realized it was coming from the area of the African Wild Dog, and made our way over to him quickly. He was, by that time, wandering around. He took notice of us, and seemed pleased to have us visit him. He ran about his large exhibit, and, at each side, he would glance at us. He appeared to be showing off for us. This went on for quite some time until he finally went over and laid down. He began his "siren," so we decided to let him be. But, as we started to go, he watched us as if he was sorry to see us leave.
On the day of this picture, he was quite active also, and even looked as if he wanted to cross the water barrier in order to come see us. (I'm not sure if it was to eat us, or to befriend us!)
