Description
The Fremont River flows through Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. Between the sheer sandstone walls of this narrow canyon, Fruita, a small Mormon settlement, was established in the 1880s. The history of the area, however, goes back millenia to the aboriginal Americans who left their mark on the red sandstone clifs in the form of petroglyphs still visible today.
