Oregon grape is actually edible....although the berries are very bitter and don't taste like a grape at all. I actually shot this with my 400mm lens.

White Egret

I kinda messed around with HDR to see if I could get a better focus of the bird. I find them hard to capture because the white is often overexposed and the background is too dark. I think I like the effect this produced

North Silver Falls

spent the afternoon in the Silver creek falls state park. there are over 10 water falls in the park. Shot this picture at .60/second to give the water that soft look. This falls is only 15 feet in height. But in my opinion it is one of the best looking in the park. The way it punches down into this bowl is really amazing.

This is a small type of plover that lives in the country....they are a beautiful bird.

The North Star

30 minute exposure of the stars. Temperature 15 degrees. I put a coat of anti-fog on my lens. The North star is in the upper left. It never moves and has been used by sailors to navigate for centuries. This shot is taken from my from deck.
