What a delightful book! The story of Mirror, the carousel horse, is great fun to read. The pictures expertly capture the narrative. The authors have provided us more than just an interesting tale, however. In Mirror, we see a reflection of our own hearts. Children (and adults) who read this book can profit from Mirror's mistakes, learning a priceless life lesson through the story of Mirror of the Carousel. [reviewed by author Deborah Brunt (2006)]

The reader is taken back to a time when things moved slow and hand-carved carousel animals were truly a treasure. The summer of music and carousel magic comes to a close and the carousel is stored for the winter. Mirror is befallen a trip to storage and finds himself in a junk store, where he discovers that being the center of attention can be short lived. This is an easy read with colorful illustrations that complement the story. [reviewed by Karen Schrepel, NARHA Region 8 Rep. and Registered Instructor (2006)]
